Bearing Isolator has become the standard sealing solution on IEEE-841 motor and for some other critical equipments. And recent years, more and more OEMs, such as manufacturers of mining motor, bower and compressor, are paying more attention to the EDM problems with the bearings.

During the initial operation stage of the turbine, the front and rear shafts of the turbine were faced with sealing problem. The water invasion into bearing housing, shaft high vibration, and burned-out of the sliding bearings occurred frequently, which have seriously affected the long-term safe production of the chemical plant.

BRS recently has cooperated with a local famous animal feed equipment OEM and successfully installed non-contact air shaft seal on their twin screw Extruder. This application is faced with high temperature (200°C）, high velocity (400 rpm) and limited installation space. The traditional packing seal will wear out quickly because the huge shaft runout and misalignment due to the more than 3 meters long shaft.

Currently there are two main rotary shaft sealing solutions installed on coal mine motors, one is the non-contact IP66 labyrinth Isolator, and the other is the IP67 structural design that can be operated in submerged working conditions.

Bronze has been the main material for Bearing Isolator products since it is invented in 1970’. Bronze can offer excellent performance for labyrinth seal, such as no sparking, easy machining and certain anti-corrosion property.

In the past 3 years, BRS shaft grounding products have been installed on more and more Electric Bus and other commercial vehicles and helped NEV enterprises to improve the product reliability and safety. Recently a major manufacturer King Long will install shaft grounding ring to protect the NEV motor, quantity more than 120 sets.

BRS received an urgent order from a customer in Holland in September and we completed the production and delivered the seal within 2 weeks. Currently the seal has been put into running successfully and helped the customer solve the material leaking problem.

Bearing isolator (bearing protector) is a non-contact, wear free long-term bearing protector. It includes a dynamic loop and a static loop, which are integrated into one, so they will not be separated during operation. Generally speaking, the moving ring rotates with the shaft, and the installation part of the stationary ring is pressed into the end cover of the bearing housing.
